Celia Welch (Scarecrow, Corra, Lindstrom, Barbour, Hollywood & Vine) handles the winemaking at this beautiful vineyard in Yountville just south of the Veterans Home. The site sits on the western bench just off the valley floor and it’s eastern exposure give the vines an early start every morning. By 3 o’clock, shadows are stretching across the vineyard, sparing the vines the intense afternoon heat. The results are Cabernets with a polished density and freshness that makes them standouts. Farmed by Jim Barbour (Checkerboard, Jones Family, Grace Family, Revana), this producer is guaranteed to satisfy the most discerning wine fans.
