Aston Estate was founded in 2001 by Thomas Brown, Fred Shrader and Chuck Sweeney. The 14 acre vineyard lies just outside of Annapolis, on the second ridge line in from the Sonoma coast and was planted to Dijon clones : 115, 667 and 777, as well as the Swan clone. Entirely Goldridge soils the vineyard yields just 1.25 tons to the acre. There are roughly 1,500 cases of Pinot produced that are spread over two separate bottlings, the higher end “Estate” bottling and a mid-tier “Sonoma Coast”. In April 2021, Thomas became sole owner of the Aston Estate.
