“Heimark is like the Pauillac of Napa Valley, with a lot of sophisticated tannins” - Philippe Melka
In 1997, Craig and Libby Heimark purchased a 100 acre parcel in Dutch Henry Canyon just southeast of Calistoga, a densely forested parcel save one 15 acre, southwestern facing, section that had been cleared by an ancient landslide. They hired Michael Wolf (To-Kalon, Scarecrow, Vine Hill Ranch) to develop this section with viticulturist Mary Hall Maher (Harlan) who both identified 14 acres for Cabernet and one acre for Petite Verdot. The majority of their fruit is sold to Lail, Arkenstone and Dakota Shy, but in 2016 they decided to keep the fruit from the best 3 acres, hire none other than Francoise Peschon (Araujo, VHR, Cornell) and produced wine under the Heimark label. We are thrilled to have these benchmark Cabernets in the portfolio.
