After years of working in cellars around the world, Matt Berson started Love & Squalor in 2006 with two barrels each of Willamette Valley Pinot Noir and Riesling, 65 cases. Matt’s hands off winemaking style results in incredibly balanced and expressive wines that highlight the brightness and vibrancy of this growing region. The name Love & Squalor is from a story title by J.D. Salinger and encapsulates the two things often prevalent at the start of any worthwhile endeavor- passion and poverty.
